3. How do I apply it to my daily life?

Scripture: Luke 10:25-37 and Romans 5:1-2

Title: Are you Neighborly?

BIG IDEA: God did not give you all that you have so that you can have all that you want, but so that others could have all that the NEED.

What does it say? Read Read Luke 10:25-36

Reflection:

What stood out to you in the sermon this week and what did God reveal to you

in the Scriptures, maybe for the first time?

Where do you see the Gospel in the parable of the Good Samaritan?

Where do you see yourself in this story?

Why is it important to remember that you are blind, broken, lost and left for dead without Jesus?

The priest and the Levite turned away from the hurt man because of their religious rules.

What has caused you to run away from, instead of running to, broken and hurting people?

How are we called to be the Samaritan?

Share stories with your group of anyone you’ve been generous and compassionate with.

What does it say? Read Luke 10:37

What are some specific steps you can take this week to “go and do likewise” in your community?

Challenge:

-Be honest about where you find your identity

-Reflect on who you are in todays parable…

-Don’t forget that you are blind, broken, lost and left for dead without Jesus

2. What does it mean?

3. How do I apply it to my daily life?

Scripture: Matthew 6:19-34 and Luke 12:13-34

What does it say? Read Matthew 6:19-21; 33

Reflection:

Savers AND Spenders - what are you spending your time and treasure on that you need to minimize, or what do you need to stop holding back, so you can focus more on Jesus?

What does it mean:

What does it mean to seek first the kingdom of God, and what are some practical steps

you can take to do that?

What does it say? Read Luke 12:20-21

What does it mean:

Reflection:

How does gratitude bring peace that guards your heart and mind in Christ?

Spend 5 minutes right now and begin writing your gratitude list.

Challenge:

-Decide on an amount of money to carry with you this week that you’re going to give away.

-Pray and ask God to show you who He wants to bless with it.

-Give it away when the Holy Spirit prompts you.

-Share your story with your group.

Reflection:

Share a time in your life that was difficult or challenging and you could see God producing fruit in that season.

What did you learn about God?

What did you learn about yourself?

How can you practically build your life on the rock of Jesus and not the “sand” of your

desires or the world’s standards?

How do you jump in to God’s love?

Challenge

-Every day this week pray a prayer similar to this: Jesus, please meet me where I am, change me, comfort me and convict me. Help me leave this prayer time more in love with you than when I came.

-Choose one area where you can actively obey Jesus, not out of obligation but out of love.

-Choose to forgive someone, be generous, refrain from doing something, show kindness to someone, etc.

-Reflect on how this act of obedience deepens your love for Jesus and aligns you more closely with His will

Constant Reminder

Six questions for gospel-centered discernment. Memorize and ask these six questions to discern and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in your life.

G - God's glory: Will this decision primarily be about my glory or God's glory?

O - Other Christians: What do other gospel-saturated, Christ-centered, wise friends say about this upcoming decision?

S - Scripture: Does the Bible command, permit, or prohibit this decision? What does inerrant, infallible Scripture say?

P - Prayer: Have you abided with, rested in, asked from, listened to and waited on God in this decision over time?

E - Evangelism: Will this decision give me the opportunity to share the gospel and invite people to faith in Jesus?

L - Lifestyle: Will this decision lead me to live a lifestyle of love marked by the Fruit of the Spirit and holiness?
