6/29/25

Scripture: Psalms 147–150

Title: Let Everything That Has Breath Praise the Lord

Big Idea: Praise is the response of those who know God—and if you have breath, you are called to praise.

REMINDER:

A Disciple...

● Loves All People

● Discovers Identity in Jesus

● Deepens Relationship with Jesus

Community Builder:

What have I done this week to…

● Feed my soul?

● Feed others?

● Feed my flesh?

Scripture Study Tip:

Ask these three questions when reading…

1. What does it say?

2. What does it mean?

3. How do I apply it to my daily life?

Read Psalms 147

Psalm 147 – God Is Powerful and Personal

What does it say?

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”– Psalm 147:3

“Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.”– v.5

What does it mean?

God reigns over the stars and weather, yet He heals hearts and lifts the humble.

We serve a God who holds galaxies but also holds you. He is both immeasurably powerful

and intimately present.

How do I apply this?

Praise God even in the middle of brokenness—He is near, and He is good.

Reflection Questions:

● How does knowing God is both powerful and personal change how you worship?

● In what ways do you see God caring for you right now?

● When are you tempted to withhold praise because of pain or disappointment?

Read Psalms 148

All Creation Joins the Praise

What does it say?

“Praise the Lord from the heavens… Praise the Lord from the earth.”– v.1,7

Everything—sun, moon, sea creatures, mountains, people—praises God.

What does it mean?

Praise is not just for the church building—it’s the song of all creation. Everyone has a place in

this heavenly choir.

How do I apply this?

Join creation in praising God—not just with music, but with your words, actions, and life.

Reflection Questions:

● How often do you pause to praise God outside of church?

● What’s one way you can lead others (family, children, friends) into a lifestyle of praise?

● What keeps you from praising God freely and openly?

Read Psalms 149

Praise Is a Weapon

What does it say?

“Let the high praises of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands.”– v.6

God’s people praise Him with joy and celebration—but also with strength and boldness in battle.

What does it mean?

Praise is part of spiritual warfare. It’s how we declare God’s victory over fear, shame, and the

lies of the enemy.

How do I apply this?

When the battle rages in your mind or life, choose to praise. It will shift your focus and

strengthen your faith.

Reflection Questions:

How have fear or discouragement silenced your praise lately?

What does it look like for you to fight spiritual battles with praise instead of panic?

What lie have you believed about yourself that keeps you from living free?

Read Psalms 150

A Full-Life Hallelujah

What does it say?

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”– v.6

All who breathe are called to praise—with instruments, with sound, and with life.

What does it mean?

Praise is the purpose of every person. If you’re alive, you’re invited. Praise is not based on

mood—it’s based on the goodness of God.

How do I apply this?

Praise with your voice. Praise with your body. Praise with your choices. Let every part of your

life be a hallelujah.

Reflection Questions:

● What’s one area of your life that needs to become more worshipful?

● How can your daily life (work, school, conversations) reflect God’s goodness?

● What’s holding you back from praising God with your whole life?

Challenge This Week:

1. Ponder on God’s Word above all things – Make time for Scripture before anything else.

2. Ask God to change your perspective on how you see Him – Do you see Him as

distant, or deeply involved in your life?

3. Ask God to help you be real with Him – Be honest in prayer, even when you're

struggling.

4. Let His thoughts about you flood your thoughts about yourself – Let Psalm

147–150 reframe your identity in Christ.

6/22/25

Scripture: Psalm 139:1-18

Title: Your Works are Wonderful

BIG IDEA: You are valuable and you should be treated as valuable which starts with your mind.

REMINDER:

A Disciple...Loves All People, Discovers Identity in Jesus, Deepens Relationship with Jesus.

What have I done this week to feed my soul, feed others, and feed my flesh?

Scripture Study Tip

What does it say, What does it mean, and How do I apply it to my daily life.

Read Psalm 139:1-18

What do we learn about the character and attributes of God in Psalm 139, and how do those attributes both comfort and convict us?

How does shame & guilt impact you?

What lies cause us to run from God instead of to Him?

How can you run to Jesus when you feel that way?

What lie have you believed about yourself for so long that it’s clouded out the voice of God in your life?

Challenge:

1. Ponder on God’s Word above all things

2. Ask God to change your perspective on how you see God

3. Ask God to help you be real with Him

4. Let His thoughts about you, flood your thoughts about yourself
